\cf0 Event Management (Short Course) Assessment\
\
\
1. An Event planner/coordinator is responsible for many activities, including research, budgeting, and considering the characteristics of participants involved and their specific needs, using the 5Ws of event creation to guide them. Creating a schedule of event is the most important thing for the planner to do because it takes all activities into account from cue-to-cue, to ensure everything falls into place and the event runs smoothly. Another important duty is logistics arrangement, which involves arranging caterers, transportation, lighting, technical facilities, sounds and communications.\
\
2. The main tasks involved in event planning are undertaking research activities, creating a unique design for the event, selecting an ideal site and venue, making arrangements for catering and transportation, creating and dispatching unique invitation cards, coordinating and supervising workers, making provision for accommodation and evaluation of the event.\
\
3. The 5Ws in event creation are why, who, when, where and what. Why should always be the first question asked when preparing to plan an event, because the purpose for staging the event needs to be discovered before you get started. Who is the target audience, and knowledge of this will form the basis of the planner\'92s marketing plan. When is very important, so that there are no conflicts with other events. Where\'92s importance is the most suitable venue. It should be chosen based on how easy access to it will be, and if it will create an enjoyable atmosphere. What is the event\'92s concept, which could be a combination of ideas. The concept is what will attract people.\
\
4. Identifying other events in advance is very important, because it could directly compete with the one being organized. This should be done when selecting a date and time for the event. Competing events could affect things such as transportation of people and goods to the venue, which could result in heavy delays. So identifying any competing events will make you aware of anything that could go wrong, so if you can you should adjust the date and/or time of your event.
